DANITA D.: Explain what you do. Who is DJ Jay Bape?

JAY BAPE: I'm a full time artist and business man... DJ is retired...it's just Jay
BAPE now

DD: What's a day like in Jay's world?
JB: Busy...if I'm not in the studio working on my album..I'm in the studio
helping my people with their projects...I dab in producing

DD: What is it with you and Bathing Ape/BBC?
JB: The best brands ever created... I was wearing bape since 2002 just to be
different from every1 else...and as I learned about the culture n
history it stayed with me...and in 2006 Pharrell put me onto the BBC

DD: Who are your influences in music?
JB: Kanye west...Pharrell..Lupe..Jeezy.. And Myself

DD: Single? Married?
JB: Lol... not married

DD: Who are the Astro Kids?
JB:Its a lifestlye....a movement... a group... a family; the group members
are Me, Wreck Wregular, and Knowledge Bonez

DD: What do you feel connects music to fashion?
JB: Fans look at their favorite artists as role models... so if they are
wearing leather pants and a deep v-neck they will accept that as the new
trend... but with me I keep it fresh and I encourage others to do the
same

DD: What was the first name brand item you bought ever? What year was
it?
JB: Since I was born I was rocking oshkosh bagosh, however its
spelled...then lacoste...fubu..platinum fubu..then I went to the guess
phase.. To j's and jerseys...then I found myself

DD: If you were stuck on an island, what three items would you take with
you and why?
JB: My laptop..I need to be on my site GoASTROkids.com
Fresh Outfit.. For the day I get rescued
iPod... can't leave home without it

DD: Who do you have a crush on today and why?
JB: Was halle berry but she got pregnant b4 I could get up with her.. So now
I gotta wait for miley cyrus to turn 18

DD: What annoys Jay Bape the most?
JB:Not much...but I just don't like it when ppl give themselves a time
frame to do something and they don't go it or even come close

DD: What do you think is missing in music today?
JB:I think music has everything...just the ppl who are putting it out need
to stop releasing the same stuff and look for different shit

DD: What do you think(if anything) is missing in fashion today?
JB: I'm pretty satisfied..anything I can't find here I get from japan... or
I get a box in the mail from you guys

DD: How do people see you/contact you?

DD: What's up next for you?
JB: Right now I finished the album... we are in talks with a few ppl... and
