This song has been getting a heavy push lately, but it hasn't really been on my radar (probably because I'm not from NY *shrugs*) but the cinematography is dope and the Black/White effect always adds some character. Alicia Keys=Stunning.
Also while you're here, check out Jay-z respond to Beanie Sigels recent "real" song
Oh wow.. This friday is getting better and better. Bars from 2 of the most underrated Emcees in the game right now. Just enjoy
Some real talk right here. I'll be glad when him and Cornell West replace Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton as the Black-American leaders the media seek out to interview about problems and resolutions in Black Communities.

New track from J.Cole a few positive messages throughout the song. One of the many things I respect about his music is that he always finds a way to be positive and motivate through his music. check it out Below
I posted a video a while back where Method Man was confirming an album with Ghostface, Method Man, and Raekwon. Looks like its coming into fruition. This is gonna be BIG.
In my opinion Mos Def, Black Thought, Eminem, KRS-One and Joe Budden killed these.. Everyone else was cool, but damn Wale was clearly the worst. All my peeps here in DC are clowning him heavily.. What you think??

Chip Tha Riiiiiiiiippeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr hooked up with Mick Boogie & Terry urban to do a dope track for the De La Soul tribute mixtape "Le Da Soul" Presented by Lemar and Dauley.
Here's behind the scenes for the video for "Popular Demand". Props to them not sitting back and waiting for the label and going out and shooting this video on their own dime. The game is now viral now , glad they figured that out.
Part 3 of the documentary featuring Roc Nations 1st artist, and incredible lyricist, J.Cole.

Although a slight late pass is needed, I have been aware of this video since this morning. I was honestly having a problem posting this due to his legal issues, but I came to the conclusion that if Rihanna was willing to publicly accept his apology I think he deserves a second chance from the media.
This is a sick video, obviously they followed suit with the track title and had a "Transformers" type theme, but other than that the dance moves were dope as well as the song itself.
Behind the scenes look at "Upside Down" as Get Noticed Media follows Problem around the shoot for the latest video off of Snoops "Malice in Wonderland" album coming in December.
For those who don't know, the creators of Guitar Hero have just released a new installment to the series which is DJ Hero. The Late DJ AM is among the DJs who provided mixes for the game and Jay-z, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Justice, Marvin Gaye, Beck, Beastie Boys and N.E.R.D. are some of the artists included on the soundtrack. I haven't played it yet, but I def look forward to it.
I woke up to this program this morning about the state of beauty of our black women. Overall, do you think the perception of black women in the media has destroyed (us)them overall? Think about it....and let me know what you think. Think about back in our parents day when the most beautiful women were Lena Horne, Diana Ross.....classy, yet beautiful, right? Now our women look up to....Nicki Minaj?
The program included Melyssa Ford, Angela Murray(editor of Essence Magazine)and Datwon Thomas(editor of King Magazine). Melyssa Ford, a former video vixen(who my husband adored in her day, lol)admitted that the current state of our black women is on a downward spiral due to the lack of education and the lack of confidence in themselves. I have to agree with her 100 percent. Women don't value themselves enough, so why should men? What do you think?

In this vid Push and Mal discuss their clothing line "Play Cloths" and their upcoming album.
Not too sure on how effective these are as a skateboard shoe (no ankle support) but I'm sure the padded collar will help. But above all, its a very dope shoe. In my opinion they look to be styled after a pair of jeans. the leather laces set this shoe off to me.

For those of you who don't know, Cookin' Soul is a production duo. Last year they created a mixtape with all new original beats and Notorious B.I.G Acapellas featuring a host of other artists, called it Night Of The Living Dead and dropped it on halloween. They're doing the same thing this year but wit 'Pac. Check out the trailer above.
New music from The Clipse assisted by Skateboard P and Killa Cam. Simple yet dope beat, Pharrell with the boss talk on the hook, Pusha came with the aggressive yet slick verse, Cam'ron provided his witty/comical/criminal swagger and Malice ended it subtly dropping knowledge. If you can't tell... I rock with this one.
This trailer has been put together very well. All I can do is hope it comes off great in the final cut. check it out and enjoy.

SMH @ ME FOR NOT EVEN KNOWING THIS SONG EXISTED! with that said, dope video and collaboration with Raheem DeVaughn and Ludacris. Info on DeVaughns new album soon to come. Pay attention to these words and visuals, PLEASE!
This fall (Specifically October 31st) Adidas will be launching a line of rugged yet subtly designed sneakers and boots. This is a pretty cool vid displaying the shoes in action. I'm not sold on the high top boots, but I do like the brown dessert boots. The white canvas high-tops are a good look and the Electric Blue chukka style high-tops are as good as copped in my book. Should have some detailed shots soon.
I apologize for it being like 7 videos, but this was the Rocafella Dynasty at it's highest point..

Ok as you all get to know me, you'l know that I'm a college basketball addict. I felt compelled to post this clip for 2 reasons. 1, this will probably be the only clip you see involving Pepperdine University. 2, he dunked over 5 of his teammates!!! Pretty dope if you ask me. Also shout out to whoever figured out how to develop a mascot for the "Waves" ha.
I should also have some news on NCAA Basketball 10 by EA Sports soon.
Spotted this at Yahoo Sports
I dont know about yall, but seeing Dave on stage doing new material has me amped. But I'm even more happy that he decided to go back to the stage after abandoning show business a few years ago

New track from Ryan Leslie's upcoming album Transition. This track just shows the ladies that there are guys willing to sacrifice for a relationship. Smooth ballad with a nice vibe.
In this vid we get the 1st official view of the Pro-Ked "Bobbito Royal Flash Pack". The sneak preview of these caught my eye, but I didn't find it post worthy until we could see full views and colors. Bobbito is very good with picking colors and materials. He also does a quick history lesson on Pro-Keds. (To the cats in my age bracket Pro-Keds ARE NOT just those shoes Rocawear had a few years ago.) check out this vid and enjoy.
For years I've been hearing MJ was mad "Niggerish", guess this confirms it, lol..

I've been waiting to check this out for some time. I spent a nice block of hours playing Assasin's Creed and its just an all around dope game. From the scenery to the weapons this game makes you feel like you are really in mid-evil times. And in my opinion, it takes a lot more strategy to sneak past security, walk up to a target and kill him. This is definitely a gamers game.
New music from one of the most talented and beautiful women I've seen in my 20 years. Hopefully we'll get info on the album asap.
Some funny ish to start your work week.

I like this joint. Haven't heard a song like this before. That's what I look for in new music. Either some one who can spit or comes up with a fresh idea. Either way, enjoy and tonight I'm going to kick it with my white friends, lol

Since Polo Champ started the West Coast wave on the Blog today, Why not follow it up with an interview with 3 artists poised to bring the west coast back to its prominence. check it out.
We straight Ol' school West Coastin right now... Another bomb!!
First tape I ever owned as a young'n.. One of the greatest emcees EVER!! Too bad the tragic accident cut his career short..
This is a track of his upcoming album "Deal Or No Deal". For those who don't know, Khalifa was signed to Warner Brother Records but was dropped earlier this year and only lord knows why. He makes consistent music and has a very strong core of in-house producers that provide him with dope backdrops for his marijuana charged music. But anyway, here's "This Plane" by Wiz Khalifa
So looks like nike decided to bring back the black/infrared colorway for the Air Max 90 Currrents instead of the Jordan VI. I'm not mad at this shoe at all though. All black shoes with a simple one color accent always catch my attention and these were no exception. You can't tell by the pictures but the upper features a mix between Leather, mesh and Ostrich leather. Seeing that these are "Premium" they'll cost more than the average AM90s but from the looks of it.. totally worth it.
I personally don't know enough about dude or his sound bites to have a full opinion, but from what I hear, he wishes race relations were back in the 1800's..

Ok so homebase will be doing a series of Q&A Vids with artists and producers and they kicked it off with The Kickdrums, Who so happen to be from Cleveland. (Danita Whattup?)
This is that vintage snoop I been waiting to hear for the last few years. Hard-Hitting beat smooth yet criminal lyrics and a dope hook = money in my book. Nobody is credited for the hook and although it sounds like Cee-lo, there were a few runs that would prove otherwise. When I know you'll know. Malice in Wonderland is slated to drop 12/8/09.

1st(?) official video from Street Hop. This track is mean! I really have no words.. just watch listen and enjoy.
This is part 1 of a four part series shot by Chris Knotti who says that "In this episode, J. Cole discusses moving from North Carolina to New York a pursue a rap career, getting signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation & preparing a classic album." I think J.Cole is definitely a very talented artist. I just hope that Jay isn't too busy with his own career to give him a push in the right direction.

Its always a pleasure to get a peek in on how some artists put their songs together. This video shows John Legend, GLC, and "Man Man". The song sounds like It's gonna turn out dope. It also seems like nobody actually writes on paper now, I'm sure environmentalists enjoy that. And its not a typo.. that's really the title.
New music from the upcoming album "Street Hop" from the homie Royce Da 5'9. Hopefully we'll get some videos soon, He and Ric Cordero make magic. This track features Phonte and is definitely something to ride to.
New video from the BAAAAWWWSSSE (sorry, lol) featuring Robin Thicke. As soon as Ross discovered what a HD cam was he's been dropping videos left and right. I think more artists should take this route and not depend so heavily on what the label can do for them and get it for self. This is a smooth joint and the vid looks like it was shot in miami. A lot of eye candy in this one.

This is in my top 3 of vacation destinations. Check out Young Money and Cash Money Records Ball out in Amsterdam.

Out of any of the "fusions" released by Jordan Brand , I only acknowledge these.. they should be available everywhere by the end of this weekend.
As heard in the classic movie Friday.. Check out his album "Ass, Gas or Cash" a personal favorite of mines..
Some hard hitting Hip-Hop on this slow Friday. Enjoy.
One of my favorite songs EVER!! Enjoy
Nike has been commemorating the "Day Of The Dead" holiday for a few years, but this is the 1st time they switched over to Air Max. This is a very busy shoe, but at the same time if you're aware with the series it fits right in. Considering hunting for these because the AM 90 is one of my personal favorites. These (in my opinion) are the second best attempt at the DOTD design behind the Dunk Highs. To get up on speed to exactly what The Day Of The Dead is, click here.

Probably the dopest video I've seen today. Not because of the cinematography, but because the message. No clear cut performance scenes, no cameos, just a father and daughter enjoying each others time. This is off his mixtape "Warning Shots 2".
JUST A NOTE TO ALL (& SOON TO BE) PARENTS WATCHING THIS VIDEO. DO NOT DROP THE TOP WITH YOUR BABY IN THE BACKSEAT... WAAAAY TOO MUCH WIND.
- I don't wanna see none of that this summer, just take em to the park.
I wish these could have been kept in their completely original colorway (Black/INFRAred , yes there is a difference) but for whatever reason they weren't this will be a general public release in january 2010 so be on the look out and grab them quick, I'm sure the sneakerheads will be all over these. I saw these over at KOF.

The great people over at Lavishlane.com did a photoshoot with Rosa Acosta, who's most known for her stretching scenes in Drakes "Best I Ever Had" video. I doubt any of you are even reading this, so I'll stop here.. Enjoy.
We gotta get it together people before our community is a full war zone.. Nas is droppin' jewels..
This has Twitter buzzin', especially since Braylon got traded to the Jets. Sound off on your feelings.. Personally I know any argument can lead to fisticuffs so don't beef with someone you can't beat, but I also know in Cleveland you don't mess with the King.. How y'all feel?
I don't know why but I've been on a Camp Lo kick lately. Here's another classic from the most slept on group in hip hop. Let me know what you think.
New music from Dro should be dropping soon. Seems like this has been delayed for a while now though. This vid shows Dro and Cannon putting the last touches on the "Rest In Peace" mixtape.. The artwork was corny, but I know the music wont disappoint. Stay tuned
For those of you that don't know, Diddy still has contractual rights to "LOX" (Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek Louch) Which is why there hasn't been an official LOX album in quite some time. The Yonkers, NY natives still managed to stay afloat by dropping solo albums, and group efforts under the name "D-Block" and including more members. I personally hope that they can do this album 100% Diddy free, but judging by this video, NO.

Ok, quick lesson for those who don't know. Ski Beatz was the in house producer for the group Camp Lo. He also produced "Feelin It" for Jay-z on his "Reasonable Doubt" album. Check out this vid for some little known facts as well as a little extra insight on why you often hear rappers on the same beats before there is an official release. Polo Champ whattup.
This is for the upcoming "Body" issue from ESPN mag. This leads me to believe that she also did a spread, not nude I'm sure. But a spread still. 10 thumbs up from me.
Underneath all the Gun talk and gangbanging, Jay Rock shows his compassion for those in bad situations in even worse neighborhoods. He also shows that his story telling skills are on point and that he's about more than the average rapper. He takes it back to the street talk for "I'm official" though. lol
FIRE!! This is what I like about hip hop.. fresh beats and flow not sounding like anyone else or coming with the same subject matter..
Saadiq took notes on 60's soul music and brought us this gem. He's personally one of my favorite Singers/Producers/Composers and as a fan I'm just happy that he's somewhat staying in the light. I cant at all be mad about this video either. I might have to go sing this song to someone.

Many of you may recognize her from Joe Buddens "Joe Budden TV" webisodes which brought her to internet stardom. Judging by the video, the photos should be very seductive. I'll be on the lookout for these to be in the next issue of Complex.
New music and video from T.I. Kinda caught me off guard but its a hot track and a somewhat nostalgic vid compiling clips from studio sessions, concerts, home movies etc. This is the second prison inspired vid from T.I. Shout out to whoevers on his team that's convincing these wardens to to allow this.
I was on twitter last week and asked for artists to send me their music so it can be heard. The first group to holla at me was R-Gang Ent/Hussel Team. Below is the link to two of their songs.. Check it out and let me know what you think..

Man, i can remember exactly where I was when I first heard this. 2001. True story, I kept seeing the video, but didn't pay it any attention. I was always busy doing something when it came on. I finally heard it this one day and fell in love with the track. Bought the CD with my little money I had at the time working at this chicken shack. Played it non-stop. She's the best to me, gets no better. My husband loves her and I gotta admit, I do too. Enjoy.

Seems like Nike opened the doors up for more collabs lately. This one is with by far one of their dopest collaborators, Futura. This shoe starts simple at the toe, and works its way to the back with a dotted design. I wish I could have found more detailed pics on the back and of the tongue. no info on the release date or price as of now, But I can assure you this will be a select retail $250 purchase. Happy hunting.
Shadow Boxin'/4th Chamber my throwback favorite of the day
Michael Vick is back with Nike.. Good to see him get a shot at true redemption. Plus the Vick experience commercial was one of my favorites. Further details of the arrangement were not disclosed at this time.
**Breaking News** Nike has confirmed they supply Vick with Nike products as with any other athlete, but they have no contract in place with him for sponsorship at the moment. I will follow this story closely over the next couple days to see what comes from Vick's agent announcing an endorsement deal. Stay tuned.
