Our list. Top 10 best, to us. Hate it, love it, we don't care....lol.

10. Dead Prez - Pulse of The People. To me, it was a mixtape, but it sells for 14 bucks and last time I checked, mixtapes didn't cost that much. Still a very dope cd regardless.

9. Fashawn - Boy Meets World

8. 50 Cent - Before I Self Destruct

7. Eminem - Relapse

6. Raekwon - Only built for Cuban Linx Pt. 2

5. Royce Da 5'9" - Street Hop

4. K'naan - Troubadour
3. Mos Def - The Ecstatic

1. Doom - Born Like This

Now, this is real hip-hop. Jay-Z, honorable mention.

Worst Albums of 2009

10. Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon : The End of Day (aw, wheres the cleveland love??? No disrespect to Cudi, we just didn't like it after really listening to it. It wasnt that bad tho. Thats why he's number 10.)

9. Fat Joe - JOSE 2

8. Triple C's - Custom Cars 'n Cycles

7. Wale - Attention Deficit

6. Busta Rhymes - Back on my BS

5. Cam'Ron - Crime Pays

4. Clipse - Til the casket Drops(yea, we said it. Nothing against them.)

3. Fabolous - Loso's Way

2. Slim Thug - Boss of All Bosses(Weak...)

1. Jim Jones - Pray IV Reign

The Top 10 best and most disappointing albums of 2009

So, I'm up, on the laptop, browsing some of my favorite morning sites and I come across this listing on About.com. The journalist's name is Henry Adaso. He's given his list of the top 10 best albums of 2009 and the most disappointing list of 2009. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME AFTER READING THE LIST, PLEASE CLICK TO GO VIEW. The list is very debatable. First, the top 10 best albums of 2009, according to Harry.

10. K'naan - 'Troubadour'

9. k-os - 'Yes!'

8. Eminem - 'Relapse'

7. Clipse - 'Til The Casket Drops'

6. Slaughterhouse - 'Slaughterhouse'

5. DOOM - 'Born Like This'

3. Brother Ali - 'US'

2. Raekwon - 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx'

1. Mos Def - 'The Ecstatic'

Your thoughts? This looks like real hip-hop on this list. I'm all for it, but where's Jay-Z? His cd was definitely worthy of making the list, or at least honorable mention. Before you finish, read the 10 most disappointing albums. This is very debatable!

10. Fabolous - 'Loso's Way'(this will definitely get some people going...)

9. Slim Thug - 'Boss of All Bosses'

8. Wale - 'Attention Deficit'( everybody has been saying this: Wale's mixtapes were so much better.)

4. Busta Rhymes - 'Back on My B.S.'

3. Asher Roth - 'Asleep In The Bread Aisle'

2. Jadakiss - 'The Last Kiss'

1. Rakim - 'The Seventh Seal'

Its only fitting that the 1st Homeboy Sandman post on here is a video of him rapping, and speaking. I hope yall enjoy and do some research on him.

Adidas Original Highrise

Adidas has been taking a turn towards more contemporary shoes lately, and for the most part they've all been dope. Add these in to the tally. The gold accents on this smooth gray shoe really set these off in my opinion. A nice smooth casual kick.

Ironman 2 Trailer

Been waiting to see this, glad the promo is in motion.

Rihanna ft. Young Jeezy - Hard (Video)

I been waiting for this all day. Here's "Hard" featuring Young Jeezy. I would incorporate a horrible pun right now but I'd rather not. Behind the scenes video below.

Spec Ops: The Line (2k Games)

Trailer looks sick, check out the description from the developers.
Spec Ops: The Line unfolds within the destroyed opulence of Dubai. Once the playground for the world’s wealthiest elite, Dubai has fallen victim to a series of cataclysmic sandstorms. The city’s ultramodern architecture lies half-buried under millions of tons of sand. The very sand that blankets the city plays a marquee role in altering combat situations and serves as a powerful but unpredictable force that will both help and hinder players throughout the course of the game.

While most people have fled the now-barren wasteland before the sandstorms swept through, U.S. Army Colonel John Konrad and his loyal squad remained behind to protect those incapable of escape. Unable to reach anyone in Dubai after the storm hit, the U.S. Army feared Konrad and his team dead until they picked up a weak distress signal and launched a rescue operation. As U.S. Army Captain Martin Walker, you and your elite Delta Force team are sent to infiltrate the treacherous region to bring Konrad home. Players will experience “The Line”, that razor’s edge known only to men who deal in war. It is the line they cross when death and duty become one and the same. It is the end — of self and sanity — when their duty is done and only they remain.

Mike Bigga (Killer Mike) Interview with HipHopWired

Cool interview with one of the most well spoken emcees in the game right now.

Jay Electronica - Exhibit C

So when I heard the radio rip of this a few weeks ago my exact thoughts were "WOW THIS IS CRAZY" then "Yo, i'm posting this as soon as the CD quality drops tomorrow". Much to the peoples dismay, the releasing of the track has happened until now... but it is so worth it. Don't believe me? Listen below. Then download here... then repeat.

Styles P & DJ Green Lantern - Legal Money

Dope concept to the video, and if Styles is involved, you know the music will be fire.

Lil Wayne ft. Eminem - Drop The World

Rihanna On The Cover Of GQ

Tom Clancys Splinter Cell: Conviction (sneak peek)

This is my personal opinion.. But hey, that's what blogs are for! Ever since I had Splinter Cell for the Gameboy Advance, I felt like Tom Clancy games were a step above the rest. From gameplay,to graphics, to plots, to missions. This joint looks no different.

The Cool Kids & Friends At Under100

Cool Kids and friends at Under100 from whizhouse on Vimeo.

The Cool Kids hooked up with Dame Dash and threw a show. Here's what Keap Hope said about the event.
DD172 and Under100 put together another crazy night. I ran through with Dan on Tuesday to check out a special performance from the Cool Kids who had friends Stalley, Mikey Factz, Jay Electonica, Amanda Diva, Curren$y and more in the building with many jumping on the mic for an extended cypher. Word was that the Black Keys and Mos Def would be making a late night performance, but around 12:30 the show ended, supposedly due to cops and a noise complaint, and the show turned into a mini party upstairs in the gallery space. – Keap Hope

eLZhi - The Leftovers Unmixedtape

Juelz Santana ft. Yelawolf - Mixin Up The Medicine

1st off, Rik Cordero has been on a roll with these videos this past month. Secondly, AYE! Santana seems to be making his way towards a "comeback" of sorts. Tight song, lets see how it pans out

Wu Massacre - Meth vs. Chef part 2

1st off, the beat/sample is sick, and Chef and Tical going back and forth without a hook really set this off. Still kinda wanted to here ghost on here, but that wouldn't make this a part 2. oh well. check it out below or download here.

Wille The Kid & DJ Scream - The Outkast

Ok Aphiliates Music Groups (DJ Drama) marquee artist Willie The Kid decided to pay homage to Outkast with this mixtape pretty dope idea, and the leaks I heard didn't disappoint. Download Here.

Always good to see Lupe in stride to drop another album. Check out the vid. Enjoy.

Homebase - Off The Wall Sessions (With TiRon)

Off The Wall Sessions Ep. 7 TiRon from OFF THE WALL SESSIONS on Vimeo.

From his music to his interviews, this cat seems totally down to earth and just doing music because he loves it, which is enough for me to support. check out the interview above.

Wale - No Days Off (episode 2)

Wale - No Days Off Episode 2 from Christopher Hernandez on Vimeo.

I Didn't know about this series until today, but it just chronicles the hard work that goes into being Wale. pretty cool, check it out.

Sergiodapro On Tony Hawks Ride

I've been a fan of Tony Hawk games since Tony Hawk Pro Skater came out. But when SKATE (by EA) debuted alot of people opted for the true simulation instead of the arcade style Pro Skater series. Introducing this new series of Hawk games looks like it will be more of a simulation, but word is, it's only for the Wii :( oh well.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Mos Def - Supermagic

I have no idea what goes in the mind of the suits behind Mos Def, his album got horrible promotion and this (I believe) is his 1st official video from "The Ecstatic". But anyway its dope and you should watch it.

Sade - Soldier Of Love

Well, now I feel like proposing to somebody. check it out below or Download here.

Rhymefest - Give it to me

Wow. If this video didn't get you pumped you need to go back to sleep. 'Fest got off on this one and Scram Jones did his thing on the beat.

Allen Iverson's Return

Before anything, I'd like to start this off by saying A.I is one of my favorite players. I'm hopeful that this position allows him to get the play time that he's comfortable with, while helping his team as much as possible. Also, this will show that even after losing a "step" he's still a step ahead of most guards. It was good to hear the crowd embrace him last night.

KiD CuDi feat. MGMT & RATATAT - Pursuit of Happiness

The anticipation for this video built up a great deal before it finally dropped. This is a very dope collaboration.

Monday, December 7, 2009

Curren$y and Jim Jones Record "Aerial"

So Ski Beatz is dropping a Mixtape called "24 Hour Karate School" (which is what the artists who frequent at Dame Dash's DD172 complex call the studio/art gallery) And here's a sneak peak of the song "Aerial". Hats off to Creative Control, everything they shoot comes out extra dope.

Curren$y - One Neck, Two Chains Interview

Spitta chops it up about his group with Jay Electronica and Mos Def, How he signed with amalgam the day before he dropped his album and clowns Jordan Fusions.

Beanie Sigel Interview With The Source

Lately, Beanie has be O.D with the diss tracks, he slowed down a little bit. Maybe he can just clearly state his side of the story and move on.

Cookin Soul - NINOTORIOUS (Nino Bravo vs. Notorious B.I.G)

So, the Kidz are getting ready to drop the Professional Leisure FreEP (in collaboration with LRG) next Tuesday to be a prelude to their upcoming album. Check it out below or download here.

Freeway - Know What I Mean (Behind The Scenes)

Just a quick look into what looks to be a very simple, yet impressive video shot by Rik Cordero and his team for Freeway.

Eminem - Hell Breaks Loose

Another Eminem leak?!? Can't say that I'm not happy about this. The leaks make me believe that the refill is going to be full of energy. check it out below or download here.

Ayomari ft. TiRon - Everything Is Going Fine

Its always dope to come across a (seemingly) good new artist, and everyone has been through the situation explained in the song, well some more extreme than others. But here's Ayomari featuring TiRon with "Everything Is Going Fine" off his "The Peanut Butter And Jelly Solution" Listen below or download here.

Thursday, December 3, 2009

Regardless of how you feel about Khaled, this song is a smash and the video is a MO-VIEEEE.. lol. The acting sucks tho, but hey, can't win em all.

Pac Div Speaks On Guest Features

I really respect Pac Div, not just for their music, but for their ideals. They're more focused on making good music than anything else, and it really helps a person like me appreciate their craft even more.

Anthem - Bachelors Theme x Call Me Anthem

I'm a man of my word, so if I catch wind of some dope unsigned/underground music (thats leading to a project) And I get the proper files to post, I will. With that being said I chopped it up with Ants manager and they're cool people. Be on the lookout for his Mixtape coming soon. check his music (and quick bio) below

Anthem out of Manhattan (NYC) is a 24 year old MC whose single(s) “Bachelor’s Theme” (and “Call Me Anthem”") have been building some considerable buzz on the club scene and online.
Ant grew up in Northern Virginia and went on to attend the infamous Duke University. After graduating from Duke, Ant headed to New York, as many Dukies before him, to embark on a career as a trader. Despite enjoying the competitive nature of trading, he never lost his passion for rhyme. Feeling increasingly torn between the security and stability of a Wall St. career, and the adventure of pursuing his dreams in the hip hop world, Ant made a choice. Ultimately his dreams won out; and the rest, as they say, is history.

Homebase - Off The Wall Sessions (With Exile)

Off The Wall Sessions Ep. 6 Exile from OFF THE WALL SESSIONS on Vimeo.

Toca Tuesdays Interview/Freestyle w/ Joell Ortiz

I hope I'm not the 1st to tell you that Joell is a PROBLEM. Being 1/4 of one of the hardest Hip-Hop groups out definitely is a good look for him and the "state" of the game. check out this vid.

In4mation x Vans Chukka Low

*whew* Between these and the Nubuck Sk8-Hi pack, vans is going extra hard with the release for the next 2 weeks. In4mation is always good for a dope color combo when collaborating with Vans and these are no exception. These should be available on December, 12th. probably should check the internet because this doesn't come off as a general release.

Who is Bobbito Garcia?

RH TV: Who is Bobbito Garcia? from Ruby Hornet on Vimeo.

Yea, I'm late on this one, but it's important for anybody who claims to be a sneakerhead or a Hip-Hop head to know who he is, what he's about, and what he represents. Enjoy.

Hollywood Floss - xPeriment vol. 1

Really dope Idea I caught wind of Via Email.. Check out this rising artist from Houston, Tx

the eXperiment vol. 1 (the hip hop effect view)

Red Dead Redemption Official Trailer

I have a thing for adventure games not based around the last 20 years, and this one is no exception. I wasn't around for the wild west era, but I'm just gonna depends on the game and say this was pretty much how it went (well, kinda).

Freeway & Jake One - Know What I Mean

For those not in the know... Philly Freezer is dropping an album fully produced by Jake One. If you haven't heard Jake Ones "White Van Music" album, you haven't heard the magic that happens when they collaborate. Check out this track below, or download here to check it out for yourself.
